Johnson Trube to Begin Development of SKYLOFT near UT Austin

Austin, Texas  — Austin-based developer Johnson Trube & Associates is moving forward with the construction of SKYLOFT, a 677-bed student housing development located one block away from the University of Texas at Austin campus.

Located at 507 West 23rd St., the project will be comprised of 18 residential floors offering 212 units with four levels of below-grade parking. Community amenities will include a rooftop pool and fitness center, 24-hour study lounges and a media room.

A recent vote by the Austin City Council green-lighted the move of the historic Dabney-Horne home, which currently occupies the site, to allow for the development of SKYLOFT. Johnson Trube is scheduled to break ground on the project in August, with an opening expected for late summer 2018. Project team members include architectural firms Mark Hart Architecture and STG Design and JE Dunn Construction.
