Harrisonburg, Va.  —  A joint venture between Greensboro, N.C.-based Blackwater Development Group and Stone Spring Holdings in Harrisonburg has begun construction on the first phase of The Overlook at Stone Spring, a $19 million community serving students at James Madison University.

The Overlook at Stone Spring will have 180 units and 360 beds as well as a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse. All units will be two bedrooms, two baths with modern appliances, granite countertops, outdoor decks and patios. Completion will be the summer of 2012 to accommodate students for the fall semester of 2012. Pickering & Company based in Greensboro has been selected as the property manager.
