Kayne Anderson Adds Properties To Portfolio

Armonk, N.Y. —Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors has added six new student housing properties to its second fund. The firm recently purchased three existing student housing projects: the 145-unit Cottages of Columbia and the 201-unit Grindstone Canyon Apartment Homes, both located near the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.; and the 105-unit Aspen Heights – Baton Rouge, a gated community near Louisiana State University. All three properties feature clubhouses, resort-style pools and spas, theaters, fitness and business centers and tanning beds.

 

Kayne Anderson is also co-developing three properties with partners that will be part of the company's second fund: The first is the 195-unit Cottages of Boone at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., being developed in partnership with Capstone Collegiate Communities: Kayne is also developing the 125-unit Luxe on West Call, a mixed use community at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., being developed in partnership with Trinity Development Group: As well, Kayne Anderson is developing and the 159-unit Park on Morton in the downtown district of Bloomington, Ind., at Indiana University, being developed in partnership with Ambling University Development Group. Each Community is being developed with amenities.
