The project includes a dining hall, parking and classroom space, as well as other features.Dallas — The University of Texas System, Office of Facilities Planning and Construction, has selected HADP Architecture as design architect working as consultants to the firm of HKS Architects for a new living-learning center at the University of Texas at Dallas.

HADP Architecture, together with HKS, will design the new residence hall, dining facility, recreation complex and parking garage. The project, which is currently in the design phase, will include approximately 285,000 square feet and will house 600 students, primarily freshman. The project will also include classrooms, gathering spaces and offices.

The housing and living learning center will support the university's student growth and help address overcrowding in the current dining and activity centers at the central campus core. The preliminary project cost is $75 million and is scheduled for completion in fall 2014.

Sited on the northwest portion of campus, the 800-seat dining hall and kitchen will serve students who live in four nearby residence halls. A parking garage component will provide spaces for 750 cars and include roadwork, plus an indoor-outdoor recreation facility with 25,000 square feet of indoor activity area.
