Ankeny, Iowa — The groundbreaking was held last week for an expansion of the student housing at Des Moines Area Community College's (DMACC) Ankeny campus. The Campus View student housing community, which was recently acquired by a private company, will be renovated and expanded. In addition, the company plans to construct a new apartment community known as The Pointe within the Prairie Trail development. According to published reports, the Campus View renovation will increase its capacity to 231 beds and will be complete by the fall semester. University officials said construction for The Pointe, which will contain up to 500 beds, will begin this fall or next spring.
