University Walk.Knoxville, Tenn. — 908 Development Group has begun constructing a luxury property near the University of Tennessee that American Campus Communities has agreed to purchase upon completion. Batson-Cook Company has been selected as the general contractor for the project, and BBVA Compass Bank is providing the construction loan while an affiliate of American Campus Communities is providing mezzanine financing as well as initial management, leasing and marketing for the project, called University Walk. Pedestrian to campus, it will offer 526 beds with higher-end finishes and amenities. University Walk will open in fall 2014.
