Minneapolis — More than 180 sessions, exhibitors and several events drew housing officers from around the world to the Twin Cities.

from Foshay Tower.Minneapolis — The ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers International) Annual Conference & Exposition came to a close June 18, sending hundreds of university housing and residence life staff and executives back to their campuses with new perspectives and information on a multitude of topics. More than 180 sessions covered such subjects as an in-depth case study about an on-campus housing overhaul at the University of Hawaii, how to support veteran student populations, utilizing social media responsibly and effectively and managing conflict in the workplace. Sustainability and gender-neutral operations were two very popular topics at the conference. The keynote speaker was Dr. John Medina, a developmental molecular biologist and author. Other plenary sessions were led by Dr. Alma Clayton-Pederson who spoke about establishing diverse work environments and Dr. R. Kelly Crace, who focused on mental health and wellness in college and university communities.
