Kenmore, Wash. — Bastyr University is on track for a July completion for a new on-campus student housing project. The housing will consist of 11 two-story, cottage-style buildings containing 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms each. The buildings, which are applying for LEED for Homes certification, feature green features such as high-efficiency boilers with radiant floor heating systems, low-flow fixtures and rainwater capture systems, and a construction waste recycling rate of 98 percent for the project. Though already located on a forested campus, the houses will feature extensive landscaping, with attention given to edible and medicinal plants. CollinsWoerman is the project architect.
