Fairhope, Alabama — Leeman Covey has announced his retirement as president and CEO of the Collegiate Housing Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Fairhope, Alabama, that works to assist colleges and universities in acquiring or developing new student housing facilities.

Covey will remain as a member of the foundation’s board of directors. William Givhan, previously the foundation’s general counsel and COO, will take on the role of president and CEO effective June 1, and will also serve as chairman of the board of directors.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity I have had to work with Lee Covey first as legal counsel and subsequently as a colleague and especially for the many valuable lessons he has taught me about how to best serve the interests of our university partners,” says Givhan. “I look forward to continuing the important work of the Foundation and of continuing to earn the trust of the many institutions we serve now and in the future and appreciate that I will be able to continue to rely on Lee’s advice as a member of the board of directors.”
