Domus Development Breaks Ground on Second Stephen F. Austin University-Area Project

Nacogdoches, Texas — Lumberjack Lofts is being built on land that hasn't changed hands since 1886.

Nacogdoches, Texas — Domus Development has broken ground on Lumberjack Lofts near Stephen F. Austin University. The 310-bed community will be managed by Asset Campus Housing and will feature numerous amenities, including Suddenlink2GO, a service that was released in April 2012 and features more than 120,000 full-length TV episodes and movies that are accessible anywhere in the United States, on any computer with high-speed Internet access. Lumberjack Lofts will be one of five student housing properties offering Suddenlink2GO.

The furnished units will consist of one-, two, and four-bedroom configurations and include granite countertops, full-size washers and dryers and community amenities such as a resort-style salt water pool, volleyball and basketball courts, fitness center, coffee bar and lounge area.

The lofts are being constructed on storied property. "The last time this land changed hands was in 1886," says Eric Jakimier, president of Domus Development. The land had been held in the Hayter family trust for several years, and 12 acres of the original 20-acre site was recently donated to the city of Nacogdoches to allow for a park and extension of the Banita Creek. Residents living at Lumberjack Lofts will have direct access to the new park.

Lumberjack Lofts follows the completion of Domus' recent development, Legends at Nacogdoches, which is also managed by ACH and pre-leased to 100 percent occupancy.

Lumberjack Lofts will be developed on the other eight acres of the site and will open doors to residents in fall 2013.
