renderingBUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo-based LP Ciminelli has broken ground on the 198,500-square-foot South Ellicott Student Housing complex, located on the University of Buffalo campus in Buffalo. When complete, the $43.4 million project will feature 600 beds, a café, classrooms and offices. Delivery is expected in time for a fall 2011 opening. The building has been designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. Construction of South Ellicott is part of the university’s UB 2020 strategic plan, which, among other things, calls the construction of 7 million square feet of space during the next 20 years. This growth will represent a $5 billion investment across the university’s campuses.
