Rice Lake, Wis. — Construction is complete for Glenwood Commons, a 24-unit student housing community located in Rice Lake. The community is located within walking distance of the campuses of the University of Wisconsin – Barron County and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. All units contain four bedrooms and average 1,035 square feet. The community contains sustainable features that include a geothermal HVAC system, energy-efficient windows, low-flow fixtures, and Energy Star appliances. The project was sponsored by WestCap. Menomonie, Wis.-based Architectural Design Group was the general contractor and Eau Claire, Wis.based Market and Johnson is the general contractor. Construction financing for the $4.1 million projects was provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Rural Development program.
