Juneau Construction Starts Two 2014 Projects

Knoxville, Tenn., and Savannah, Ga. — SCAD and University of Tennessee students will enjoy retail components in each development.

Knoxville, Tenn., and Savannah, Ga. –
Juneau Construction Company has begun construction on 2010 Cumberland, a student housing and retail project on the Cumberland Strip at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Campus Acquisitions is the developer. 2010 Cumberland Avenue is the first mixed-use/retail development on Cumberland Ave. and will housing UT students in 265 beds situated in the middle the University of Tennessee corridor.

This project consists of a new five-story, 118,473-square-foot student housing building comprised of two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, 18,042 square feet of parking, and 10,131 square feet of retail on the first level. 2010 Cumberland Avenue will open in the fall of 2014.

Juneau has also begun construction of Talmadge Lofts, an apartment and retail complex near the Savannah College of Art and Design’s academic buildings.

University Housing Services is the developer. Savannah-based Lott + Barber Architects is the designer. The Talmadge Lofts, which will open in fall of 2014, will accommodate approximately 450 residents in a mix of 145 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and four townhomes. The six-story complex will include 3,700 square feet of retail space and two floors of parking.
