by Katie Sloan

Kennesaw, Ga. — One campus project begins, another is praised.

Kennesaw, Ga. — Atlanta-based Hardin Construction Company held a groundbreaking ceremony in October that launched construction of the expansion for University Place, a 207,500-square-foot, 451-bed facility that will serve as a residential complex for upperclassmen when it is completed in fall 2012. The architecture firm is HADP Architecture of Atlanta, and the developing partner is St. Petersburg, Fla.-based University Housing Services (UHS).

Also at KSU, University Village Suites, the first suite-style residence hall that was built in 2008, won CampusSplash.com’s Dormy award earlier this year. The distinction of the title Best Campus Housing in the Country was the result of approximately 7,100 votes.
