Leopardo Completes Student Housing Conversion Project in Chicago

Chicago — Leopardo has completed construction for Tailor Lofts, a student housing conversion project located in Chicago. The 10-story, 275,000-square-foot building is located at 315 S. Peoria St., which is a short distance away from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Other nearby schools include Kent College of Law, Columbia College, DePaul University, Roosevelt University, Robert Morris College and the Illinois Institute of Art.

It contains 441 beds in 135 apartments. Unit amenities include kitchens with granite countertops, a dishwasher and a microwave; 42-inch plasma televisions in each bedroom; and individual bathrooms. Community amenities include a tanning room, a fitness center and a lounge area (pictured). Tailor Lofts also includes 11,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a two-story parking garage.

Federal Historic Tax Credits were utilized to complete the building renovation. Fitzgerald Architects was the project architect.
