Mercer Univeristy Green Lights Mixed-Use Project

Macon, Ga. — The Mercer University Board of Trustees approved on Friday, December 4, the plans for The Lofts at Mercer Village.

 

The Lofts at Mercer Village, will house 117 students in three and four bedroom loft-style apartments

 

Macon, Ga. — The Mercer University Board of Trustees approved on Friday, December 4, the development of a mixed-use residential/retail development on university’s Macon campus. The $10 million mixed-use development will feature loft-style apartments and retail space for the Mercer Bookstore. The project, called The Lofts at Mercer Village, will house 117 students in three and four bedroom loft-style apartments. The housing is intended for graduate and professional students, as well as upperclass undergraduate students who are not living in university-operated housing. The university is providing the land, while private developers are putting up the structure and will operate the property. The developers of The Lofts at Mercer Village are Macon-based Sierra Development and Piedmont Construction Group.
