Notre Dame, Corvias to Break Ground on Married, Family-Focused Housing Development

by Katie Sloan

Notre Dame, Ind. — A public-private partnership between the University of Notre Dame and Corvias is set to break ground on a married and parenting family-focused housing community on the university’s campus.

The project is scheduled for delivery by August 2020. The university will receive operational ownership of the community at the end of a 40-year term. The full public-private partnership team includes Corvias, providing financing, development and operations services; HighlineUS, acting as project consultant; architectural firm Spalding Design Group; general contractor DJ Construction; and Holland & Knight, which will provide legal counsel.

“We know there is a growing need for housing that also addresses the needs of graduate and family students across the nation,” says John Picerne, founder of Corvias. “By providing these new residences, we’re helping Notre Dame address their need by using innovative financing approaches and resources to provide efficiencies and economies to the university which in-turn benefits the students beyond housing.”
