Churchey Named President and CEO for EDR
Memphis, Tenn. — Randall L. (Randy) Churchey has been hired as president and CEO of Memphis-based Education Realty Trust, one of the nation’s two publicly held student housing companies. Churchey will succeed Paul O. Bower on January 1, 2010. Bower, who is retiring, will retain the role of chairman of the board of EDR. Churchey was previously interim CEO of Great Wolf Resorts, a publicly held resort/hotel company; from 2006 to 2007 he was president and CEO of Golden Gate National Senior Care. He has also held executive positions with RFS Hotel Investors and FelCor Lodging Trust. Churchey was on EDR’s board of directors in 2005 and 2006.
