ACC Rings Closing Bell on NYSE To Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary

New York — The first student housing REIT debuted at $17.50 a share in 2004.

American Campus Communities CEO Bill Bayless and members of the leadership team rang the NYSE closing bell on Aug. 11 in commemoration of ACC’s 10-year anniversary as a publicly traded company. At its initial public offering on Aug. 11, 2004, American Campus debuted at $17.50 per share. Nearly 10 years later, on Aug. 8, 2014, ACC stock closed at $38.29, and together with reinvestment of dividends has resulted in a total shareholder return of 240 percent. American Campus was the first publicly traded student housing REIT.
