ASSA ABLOY Unveils Mobile Access App for Student Housing

by Katie Sloan

Stockholm — ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions has launched a new mobile application, Livvi, for student housing. Livvi allows students to use their mobile device to open doors and access defined areas without carrying a physical key.

Using the new app, property managers can issue and revoke credentials remotely, directly to the student’s mobile device. This simplifies changeover during turn season, reducing overall workloads. Other administrative features include lock battery status reporting and staff access tracking, plus the ability to issue keys for future arrivals and receive and handle maintenance requests from students. Properties can also brand the app with customizable graphics, bringing it in line with the ownership’s broader visual brand.

“Students today do everything on their phone,” says Polina Popova, global business development director of education solutions for ASSA ABLOY. “With Livvi, we deliver a seamless experience for both students and operators that meets their needs of mobility, immediacy, and convenience without compromising on security. Students need no longer worry about losing their physical keys or fobs and getting locked out from their apartment. Operators can deliver a great first-time experience for their students during the changeover and reduce the burden for on-site personnel while enhancing security across student housing properties.”
