New York — CEXTRA affiliate will also soon offer other student-centric perks and services, such as tech support.

New York — “College students have a lot of important stuff,” says Andrew Stark, CEO of Campus Evolution Villages, so the firm’s affiliate, CEXTRA is now offering renters insurance through a third-party insurance company to all its residents as well as college students around the country, who can apply online and choose from $4,000 to $10,000 in coverage. “We call it a bumper-to-bumper plan,” Stark says, “that covers everything from their toothbrush to their iPhone, their computers and everything in between.” Campus Evolution Villages worked with Worth Ave. Group to put together a renters insurance program for students across the country that CEV says is comprehensive and cost-effective, especially compared with typical avenues through which students often obtain renters coverage, such as through their parents’ homeowners’ policies. Stark explains that while many students are required to show proof of renters insurance to owner-operators at purpose-built student housing, those policies tend to favor the operator over the student.

“Worth Ave. Insurance Group has been in the student realm for many years,” Stark says. “In addition to providing liability coverage for the property, this renters policy issues immediately online, it offers a low deductible and covers up to $10,000 worth of belongings. It is something unique and different in the space.” CEXTRA will soon also offer a computer tech support service. Campus Evolution Villages is a subsidiary of Lauderhill Partners and owns and manages student housing properties across the country. It has recently acquired properties in Texas and Oklahoma as well as a five-property portfolio in the Southeast.
