Denver — Cardinal Group Companies has promoted Alex O’Brien to the position of CEO. Prior to his promotion, O’Brien served as president and COO of Cardinal Group. Del de Windt, previous CEO of the Denver-based company, will remain on as a member of the company’s board and as a managing principal.
“Del and I have worked together on this transition to allow me to take the reins for a while,” says O’Brien. “It is very exciting for me, personally, to step into the CEO role. I loved what I was able to learn and do as the company’s COO and I have loved helping to build what we believe is one of the best operating platforms in the business. Now, I’m excited to take on this new challenge.”
Over the next year, Cardinal Group plans to focus on creating the best workplace possible for its employees. “With COVID-19 hitting, leadership is really going to be put to the test,” says O’Brien. “We are committed to the people of Cardinal Group and our goal is to continue to learn, change and create a modern, inclusive and diverse workplace.”
The company is also focused on growth over the next year. “We want to capitalize on growth opportunities over the coming year,” he says. “We don’t just measure in terms of number of beds, we measure in repeat clients and which clients are choosing us and why. We have a pretty heavy growth agenda as part of my time as CEO.”
