JLL Arranges Sale of 504-Bed Community Near Mississippi State

Starkville, Miss. — JLL has arranged the sale of Lakeside Student Living, a 504-bed student housing community located near the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville. The property features a mix of studio, one-, two- and four-bedroom, fully furnished units with bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities include a fitness complex, swimming pool, volleyball court, hammock beach, computer lab and private study lounges. Scott Clifton, Stewart Hayes and Barry Brown of JLL represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. The buyer and terms of the transaction were also undisclosed.

Scion, Hana Financial Group Acquire Four-Property Student Housing Portfolio Totaling 3,275 Beds

Chicago — A joint venture between The Scion Group and Hana Financial Group has acquired a four-property student housing portfolio totaling 3,275 beds. Acquisitions include: Cottages of Fort Collins, serving students at Colorado State University Cottages of Lubbock, located near Texas Tech University The 9 at Gainesville, serving students at the University of Florida Archive Oxford, located near the University of Mississippi This transaction marks the first investment completed by the recently formed joint venture. Mississippi State University, Greystar Open $67 Million Mixed-Use Development

Starkville, Miss. — A public-private partnership between Mississippi State University (MSU) and Greystar has opened College View, 650-bed residential development on the university’s campus in Starkville. The mixed-use property features 46,000 square feet of retail space and a 7,000-square-foot addition to the MSU Child Development and Family Studies Center. Greystar financed, built and will manage the community utilizing a 40-year lease of university land with a 10-year renewal option.

Hamilton Point Investments Acquires 420-Bed Community Near the University of Southern Mississippi

Hattiesburg, Miss. — Hamilton Point Investments has acquired a 420-bed student housing community located near the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. Travis Prince, Jimmy Adams, Craig Hey and Andrew Brown of Cushman & Wakefield arranged the transaction on behalf of the seller, Crowne Partners. Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. The community offers shared amenities including a resort-style swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, game room, clubhouse, coffee lounge, study center and on-site access to the Long Leaf Trace walking trail.
