Chapel Hill, N.C. — JLL has arranged the $10.9 million sale of Courtyard of Chapel Hill, a mixed-use development featuring 17,389 square feet of retail and 54 beds of student housing. The five-building property is located less than half a mile from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. Durham, N.C. — North Carolina Central University has chosen Corvias to develop two new student housing facilities totaling 1,247 beds and a 100,230-square-foot student center. The two residence halls will be called Chidley South and George Street. Both are being funded through a public-private partnership between the university and Corvias, and are expected to open in 2020. Winston-Salem, N.C. — Hunt Real Estate Capital has provided an $18.8 million refinancing for Villages at Wake Forest, a 270-bed student housing community located near Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. The Fannie Mae, conventional loan features a 10-year term with an initial three years of interest-only followed by seven years of amortization. The borrower is Wake Forest Student Housing Associates LLC. The property offers three- and four-bedroom units with shared amenities including a pond, outdoor lounge area and a fire pit.
