The Preiss Company Sells Three Student Housing Communities Near North Carolina State University

Raleigh, N.C. — The Preiss Company has sold three student housing communities serving North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Dispositions include University Village at 2505, a 288-bed community developed in 2012; Campus West at Tryon, a 162-bed community developed in 2014; and The College Inn, a 440-bed community developed in 2004. Ryan Lang, Brandon Buell and Jack Brett of Newmark Knight Frank represented the seller in the transaction. Chicago-based Inland acquired the portfolio for an undisclosed amount. JLL Arranges $10.9 Million Sale of 54-Bed Mixed-Use Property Near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill, N.C. — JLL has arranged the $10.9 million sale of Courtyard of Chapel Hill, a mixed-use development featuring 17,389 square feet of retail and 54 beds of student housing. The five-building property is located less than half a mile from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. Thomas Kolarczyk and Jeff Glenn of JLL represented the seller, Dilweg Companies, in the transaction. Cory Fowler, also of JLL, represented the buyer, Vista Property Group. Corvias, North Carolina Central University to Develop Mixed-Use Student Housing Project in Durham

Durham, N.C. — North Carolina Central University has chosen Corvias to develop two new student housing facilities totaling 1,247 beds and a 100,230-square-foot student center. The two residence halls will be called Chidley South and George Street. Both are being funded through a public-private partnership between the university and Corvias, and are expected to open in 2020. Vines Architecture is designing the residence halls in conjunction with the public-private partnership. Metcon is the general contractor. Hunt Real Estate Provides $18.8 Million Refinancing for 270-Bed Community near Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, N.C. — Hunt Real Estate Capital has provided an $18.8 million refinancing for Villages at Wake Forest, a 270-bed student housing community located near Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. The Fannie Mae, conventional loan features a 10-year term with an initial three years of interest-only followed by seven years of amortization. The borrower is Wake Forest Student Housing Associates LLC. The property offers three- and four-bedroom units with shared amenities including a pond, outdoor lounge area and a fire pit.
