State College, Pa. — Aspen Heights has broken ground on Aspen East Penn, a 651-bed student housing community located near the Penn State University campus in State College. The property will offer a mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom units, with 28 apartments designated as workforce housing. Atlanta — Capstone Communities has completed Inspire Atlanta, a 750-bed student housing community located across the street from the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta. The property offers a mix of studio, one-, two-, four- and five-bedroom units in adjoining high-rise and mid-rise buildings. Shared amenities include a clubhouse, resort-style rooftop swimming pool, private study areas, a computer lounge, fitness studio and business center. The project’s development team included architect Niles Bolton Associates and general contractor Hoar Construction.

Atlanta — A joint venture between Lincoln Ventures and ELV Associates has broken ground on 859 Spring Street NW, a 565-bed student housing community located near the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta. The project’s design-build team includes general contractor JE Dunn and architecture and interior design firm Niles Bolton. “We are excited to bring our product and design expertise to Tech Square, one of the most energizing technology, academic and employment hubs in the nation,” says David Kanne, CEO of Lincoln Ventures. Further details on the project were not announced.

Athens, Ga. — Landmark Properties has unveiled plans to develop three new student housing projects totaling 2,544 beds across three states. The developments include The Standard at Philadelphia adjacent to the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University; The Standard at Bloomington near Indiana University; and The Standard at Columbia near the University of South Carolina.
