Charleston, S.C. — Christine Richards will step down from her position as executive director of real estate operations at Greystar on April 10. Richards began her career in multifamily more than 30 years ago at Gables Residential Trust, where she worked as a temporary leasing professional.

In 2001, Richards went to work for Allen & O’Hara — which later became EdR — as regional director and served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility over 17 years to eventually become executive vice president and chief operations officer. EdR was acquired by Charleston, South Carolina-based Greystar in 2018 for $4.6 billion.

Matt Fulton — who was recently promoted to senior managing director for U.S. student housing — has been tapped to lead the company’s student housing business starting April 11. Richards and Fulton have worked side-by-side at EdR and Greystar for more than eight years, ensuring a smooth transition for the student living team.
