CVS Leases Space at Mixed-Use Project at Franklin & Marshall College

The pharmacy will double as neighborhood grocer for college community.

Lancaster, Pa. — CVS/pharmacy has signed a lease with Campus Apartments for 12,000 square feet at College Row, a mixed-use student housing project located adjacent to Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster. CVS will occupy 12,000 square feet within the project beginning in August.

The new location will be a departure from the usual CVS store model. The College Row location will offer prepared, home-style meals. Its grocery section will include produce as well as expanded refrigerated and frozen food sections. Campus Apartments has been pursuing a specialty grocer to enhance its retail offerings at the center, but the recession prevented that from happening. CVS’ new store model will be one of the only grocers within walking distance of the college.

Campus Apartments developed the $30 million College Row project and ground-leased from to Franklin & Marshall for a 60-year term. The project contains 393 beds of student housing as well as 50,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
