Keyser, W. Va.
— The West Virginia University Board of Governors has approved the acquisition and renovation of the former Potomac Valley Hospital and property in Keyser. Potomac State College, a division of West Virginia University, intends to operate the main building primarily as a student housing facility. The property consists of 3 acres, including two structures totaling approximately 44,000 square feet and a parking lot. Potomac State College plans to renovate the upper two floors of the main building to meet student housing needs for approximately 50 students. Commercial space will be maintained on the main floor and businesses currently at those locations will have the opportunity to remain in the building. Renovation is set to begin later this fall with a tentative completion date of August 2012. The former Potomac Valley Hospital was vacated in 2008 upon completion of a new facility in Keyser.
