Charlotte, N.C. — Circle University City will be smoke-free and promote alternative transportation among its residents.
Charlotte, N.C. — Crescent Communities has selected Greystar Student Living to manage Circle University City, a 546-bed, student housing development, which Greystar says is the closest off-campus “luxury” property to the University of North Carolina, Charlotte campus. This will be Crescent’s second student project with Greystar. Construction on the development began in January.
Circle University City is being designed by BB+M Architects in compliance with National Green Building Standards. The smoke-free community will promote healthy living and incorporate energy-efficient lighting, heating and water fixtures. Bike rentals will be offered, and students will have access to nearby public transportation options including bus and light rail service.
The new community will feature upbeat interior spaces designed by Vignette Interior Design and unique one, two, and four-bedroom apartment homes. Modern interior unit finishes will include plank flooring, granite countertops, electronic keyless entry, Energy Star appliances, full-size washers and dryers and walk-in closets in most units.
Amenities will include a clubhouse with a media room, gaming room with a 27-inch touchscreen tablet for interactive gaming, individual study areas with iMacs and a group study room with a Smart Board. A two-story fitness center will feature cardio equipment with Internet and television access, a studio for barre and yoga classes along with a separate tanning room with a stand-up tanning bed. Students will also use an an outdoor rooftop deck, a swimming pool and sundeck with private cabanas, grilling stations, two fire pits, and a recreational lawn area with a life size screen for movie nights and outdoor activities. High-speed wireless access and video surveillance will also be provided throughout the community.
