Austin, Texas — Austin-based Comfy, a student rental marketplace and developer of the Unbill app, which allows roommates to split bills and other living expenses, has secured $1.25 million of Series A funding led by ATX Seed Ventures, an Austin-based venture capital fund.

Comfy plans to use the funds to grow its team and enhance the Unbill product, which automates almost all bill pay for roommates and individuals. Launched in March, Unbill has seen steady growth in its initial Austin-only phase with its customer base increasing by 200% in July alone.  Comfy has also announced a strategic partnership with Conservice, a utility management provider who has also invested in the company.
