Walker & Dunlop Originates $27.5 Million Acquisition Loan for Student Housing in Columbia, Missouri

Columbia, Mo. — Construction on The Den was completed in July 2014 prior to the start of the school year, and the property has reached a 97 percent occupancy rate.

Walker & Dunlop Inc. has originated a $27.5 million loan for The Den, a student housing apartment complex located in Columbia. The Den is a newly constructed Class A, student-oriented apartment complex comprised of 158 garden style apartments, located less than two miles from the main campus of the University of Missouri. The property offers a mix of two-bedroom and four-bedroom fully furnished units, along with an extensive amenities package including a fully furnished living room and kitchen, a sand volleyball court, 24-hour computer center, hardwood floors and resort-style pool. Construction on The Den was completed in July 2014 prior to the start of the school year, and the property has reached a 97 percent occupancy rate. Bethesda, Maryland-based Senior Vice President & Managing Director Will Baker led the Walker & Dunlop team that structured the 10-year loan with five years of interest only.
