College Park, MD. — Star Development Group, a division of Columbia, Md.-based Star Global Ventures, has broken ground for the construction of StarView Plaza, a new multifamily project in College Park that will serve the students of the University of Maryland. Construction will consist of the redevelopment of a 2.5-acre parcel located at 8700 Baltimore Ave. The project will contain 177 units totaling 662 beds. Most of the units will contain four bedrooms and four bathrooms in addition to a full kitchen, a dining room and living space. StarView Plaza will also contain 351 parking spaces and 9,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The project will be applying for LEED-certification. Completion is slated for August 2011.
