The Preiss Co. Acquires 840-Bed Community Near the University of Central Florida

Orlando, Fla. — The Preiss Co., in a joint venture with an undisclosed private investment group, has acquired Mercury 3100, an 840-bed student housing community located near the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

The property offers units with bed-to-bath parity. Community amenities include a swimming pool and sundeck; sand volleyball court; 24-hour fitness center; tanning beds; a basketball court; UCF shuttle service; a recreation center; bike storage; on-site parking; and a computer center.

TPCO plans to begin renovations on the exterior and interior of the property, to include a redesigned clubhouse; the addition of new gym equipment and a basketball court; new paint, landscaping and roofing; enhanced internet capabilities; HVAC replacements; parking lot resurfacing; and pool enhancements.

Additionally, TPCO plans to significantly improve 114 units with new flooring, upgraded lighting packages and black appliances. The remaining 114 units will further upgrade to a Premium Package, which includes new flooring, furniture, lighting, black appliances, granite kitchen and bathroom countertops and resurfaced kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
