Carbondale, Ill. — Verizon Wireless has improved its coverage on the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale campus by activating a new cell site in the area. Customers will now have increased cell phone functionality in the SIU student center, Morris Library, the Saluki Way athletic facility and the architecture, engineering, mathematics and science colleges. Residents of the Thompson Woods housing complex and apartments in the campus lake area will also benefit from the new service.
